The role:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer (Contract/Temporary) to support the design, development, and optimisation of our data integration and data management solutions. This role will play a key part in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines as well as improving data quality, with a strong focus on Boomi, particularly Data Hub, and advanced SQL development.
This is a hands-on technical role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can quickly add value across integration, data transformation, and platform optimisation initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
Build and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models
Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT processes
Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather and translate requirements into robust data solutions
Ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and documentation
Support data migration, cleansing, and transformation initiatives
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and integration workflows
Contribute to best practices in data engineering, architecture, and DevOps
Design, develop, and maintain data integration solutions using Boomi, with a strong emphasis on Data Hub
About You:
Proven experience as a Data Engineer in a contract or project-based environment
Ability to work independently and manage deliverables within tight timelines
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience and Skills:
Essential:
Advanced SQL skills (query optimisation, indexing, performance tuning)
Experience building and maintaining data integration pipelines
Strong understanding of data modelling and data warehousing concepts
Experience working with structured and semi-structured data
Desirable:
Strong hands-on experience with Boomi, specifically Data Hub
Exposure to Power BI or other data visualisation tools.
